Field trip to Point Lobos
Outing with brothers and sisters from our church is always fun, since it is time to put the scriptures aside, relax, and enjoy God’s blessing in the most natural fashion.
Michael, the organizer of the trip, is a big fun of photography. Since our Summer trip to Sunset beach (to be blogged) and seeing my music slideshow presentation, he became seriously infected by this expensive hobby. One Sunday after worship, he approached me asking about certain lens. A week later, he came telling me he has place an order for the lens. The case repeated for a few weeks and, two months later, he got almost my whole wedding gear collection. I guess deep down, everyone has a passion for certain things. The questions are when they will unveil themselves and how life changes afterwards.
The theme of the trip, according to Michael, was for me to show all the fans in the field how to shoot better pictures. Point Lobos is grogeous and we had a good time. However, how much of the terms like “18% gray”, and “sunny 16 rule” have registered after the trip is probably anyone guess.
The last picture is Michael and his family. I made a 11×14 standout from the picture and they loved it. A Nikon digital SLR camera, 1800 dollars; Freezing the smile of everyone in the family forever, priceless!
