Compared to many weddings I photographed, Yu and Teng’s wedding was a smaller and simplier one. However, their story is anything but less touching. Sister Yu came from a underdeveloped area in inland China. Brother Teng grew up in Taiwan through a difficult journey in his life. Met in Silicon Valley while pursuing their faith in Christ, they have devoted themselves to the ministries of Operation Dawn, where drug addicts rebuild their spirit, mind, body, and social life with the love of and belief in Jesus Christ. Sister Yu and brother Teng’s wedding was on May 21, 2008, a few days after their graduation from Christian Witness Theological Seminary. Honestly, it is my first time to see so many pastors and elders showing up to celebrate one wedding.
Moreover, their wedding was the first wedding my church CCIC-SV ever hosted since we moved in. I am so excited to finally got an opportunity to shoot MY fellow brother and sister’s wedding at MY church.
Congratulations Yu and Teng! May God bless your marriage and the glorious road ahead in Him.
But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15)
Akiyo saw the pictures I took at a Firesign concert and asked if I was available for their wedding. We clicked at our first meeting, during which we talked about the plan for the day with excitement.
Seascape is a gorgeous dream beach resorts. The bluff for the ceremony is right facing the ocean. The wedding was beautiful, and Akiyo looked absolutely stunning! Her hairdo and makeup are simple, but elegant and natural. We will find out her makeup artist’s name and post it later.
Before sunset, our prince and princess planned a runaway from the banquet to the beach. That was the most relaxing moment they had for the whole day. They strolled down the beach, hand in hand, hugging and kissing, bathed in the golden shadow of sunset. The love in their eyes and the beauty of California beach were just beyond words.
Akiyo’s parents came all the way from Japan to attend the wedding of their only child. Her father went on stage, and talked about Akiyo’s childhood, and how much they love Jim as a son-in-law. While he managed to hold back his tears, our bride couldn’t. “Jim, as a Japanese tradition, I would like to ask you to take good care of Akiyo”, Akiyo’s dad finished his speech, followed by a Japanese bow to Jim and the audience.
Vendors they used for their wedding are:
Akiyo and Jim, thank you for letting us be part of your big day. We had a wonderful time. And we wish you a blessed marriage!
